Day 06 – Your current relationship, if single discuss how single life is.
I am a single Father, well, that is what my Facebook status says; that is because my private life well, my relationship anyway, is none of everyone’s business. This has been the case for me only quite recently, it is due to the amount of gossip, misunderstanding, inaccurate assumptions, views, statements and yet more gossip that occurred (not from all quarters but from many) when I updated my Facebook relationship status about two years ago.
It changed from ‘in a relationship’ to say that ‘it’s complicated’ for about 48 hours and then to ‘single’ when the inevitable truth of what was happening to my 16 year relationship with my three daughters’ mother became clear to me (funny thing is, I wrote clare rather than clear, just then, which is my kids mum’s name) and I didn’t like it, I really didn’t like it, sometimes it felt like vultures circling a carcass, so since then, single is how it stays.
However for accuracy I should have changed it a long time ago, I have thought about actually changing it recently, but going public has now become a bigger issue for me than it really is; maybe this could be that turning point?
