I suppose you are asking for off the beaten track – what the locals do, ideas…. more difficult via public transport alone – in London the John Soane’s Museum, the town of Chester and the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. They are all tourist destinations but they are not as well known to international visitors – The only other things would be generic and I could recommend many but they are quintessentially English – A Traditional Pub, A Village Church and a National Park or Country Park, A Canal Tow-Path, A Public Footpath through the countryside, A ‘Greasy Spoon’ Breakfast Cafe, A Football (Soccer or Rugby) Match etc. etc.
Oh dear … and I was trying to get OUT of debt, cookie-related or otherwise! In that case, add this to my tab: If I end up being able to talk my contact into a couple of weeks’ stay, what are three NON-tourist-oriented places that I should visit?
