Day 5 – My 6 favourite song covers

10 Day Music Challenge:

Day 5 – My 6 favourite song covers

This is really a list of twelve songs – and I am going to try and mention the original as well as the cover. To be honest I would find it easier to write down my 6 favourite songs that have been covered badly and I may include my favourite songs that use samples as well as straight covers.

    • You Will Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties by Man Like Me – Original is by Jona Lewie
    • Step On by Happy Mondays – Original is He’s Gonna Step On You Again by John Kongos
    • Sour  Times by Portishead – Original is Danube Incident by Lalo Schifrin
    • Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) by Sly & The Family Stone – original is Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera) by Doris Day
    • I Can See Clearly Now by The Hothouse Flowers – Original is by Johnny Nash
    • Daydream in Blue by I Monster – Original is Daydream by Wallace Collection
    • Hey Ya by Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra Original is by Andre 3000 (Outkast)

I changed my mind but decided to leave Portishead in the list (it is also a sample rather than a cover)
