I’m following a couple of brilliant bloggers (Lori at She’s Awake & Chrissa at A Little Wicked) who are undertaking a blog challenge to write 50 lists that will lift your spirits. I love lists, I like having something to blog about and I love them, so I’ve decided to join in (whether they like it or not).
It won’t be daily and it probably won’t be in order but I will write all fifty lists and here’s the first, which happens to be the last!
List #50. Who (living or dead) you would invite to your dream dinner party.
Well I would like it to be balanced, there is nothing worse than an unbalanced dinner party and I would like people to know of each-other but not necessarily know each-other. I’d like to be the host of the party but I also don’t want to have to be the sole source of entertainment so we will need some characters to go with the wine which will of course help keep everything flowing.
The Dead:
Richard P Fenyman – Nobel prize physicist (atomic, quantum, computer), bongo player, practical joker, safe cracker, adventurer and amateur biologist.
Douglas Adams – author, dramatist, computer game designer, compiler of lists, word definer, intellectual, script writer for Doctor Who.
Audrey Hepburn – actress, model, winner of an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a Grammy, UNICEF ambassador.
John Lennon – singer, songwriter, actor, dreamer, political activist, peace protester and member of the Rock & Roll and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
Ronnie Barker – comedian, actor, writer broadcaster, officer of the Order of the British Empire, Norman Stanley Fletcher, half of the Two Ronnies, Albert Arkwright, Gerald Wiley.
Vivian Stanshall – singer, songwriter, poet, musician, comedian, actor, voice over artist for Tubular Bells, Sir Henry of Rawlinson End.
Carl Sagan – astronomer, astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, broadcaster, possessor of great intellect with equal measure of common sense.
Leonardo Da Vinci – artist, scientist, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, botanist, biologist, designer, cartographer, polymath.
The Living:
I would really like to get some of my twitter friends from all over the world to come together with my guests above, so that I could meet some of them for the first time in real life and I would invite one living famous person, possibly the only living celebrity that I would describe myself as a fan of:
Stephen Fry – actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television presenter, film director, and a director of Norwich City Football Club; an all-round gentleman.
Although it might seem quite a selfish reason for wanting my twitter friends to travel from across the globe, just to have dinner with Stephen, my dead guests and I but I think it could also be a selfless act, as I know some of them would love to meet each-other too.
They would be:
@loripop326 – Lori
@chrissarella – Chrissinda,
@livecut – Tim
@shultzyness – Danita
@madman459 – Darren
@yohanik – Yohani
@femaleprodigy – Jessica
@thedrdon – Donald
@jenwalkersf – Jennifer
@so_you_know – Annie
and me @xwidep – makes twenty people in total, phew! I better get a few more chairs and an extra bottle of wine or two – has anyone got any dietary requirements?

I have only just worked out that I can comment on my comments, you must think me so rude!! Thanks Lori for all of your comments and if you like we can both sit opposite Stephen so that we can share him ; )
🙂 That is awesome Phil. And I would love to be at a dinner party with you. I have a feeling it would be memories of a lifetime.
Thanks Chrissa (I have only just worked out that I can comment on my comments (you must think me so rude!)) but one day we will have to make at least half of this dinner party come true.
